Pauline Zipser Scratching my ever-present Iceland itch. They are most certainly blazing their own trail though. Second track with all sorts of bells and whistles to make you go “ohhhhhweeeeee”. Favorite track: Ég féll niður í tómið.

bcb723 Who the fuck are Frummyrkrið and why does track 2 play repeatedly in my mind? Gotta love a band that doesn't beat around the bush when using keyboards. Like - I mean they went all in, right out of the gate. Sound effects, synth melody lines, organ solos...these dudes are unbelievably throwing in some swinging 60s into their Icelandic bm and it totally works. Good album that I bet would sound even better on vinyl (especially the crucial & headphone-grabbing mindzone that is Track 3). Favorite track: Ég féll niður í tómið.

An impressive debut from this new band that showcases a cohesive blend of melodic, progressive, atmospheric, and dissonant black metal featuring good usage of synths and great basswork. Definitely a fantastic newcomer to Iceland's ever-growing black metal scene. Favorite track: Umlukinn dauðans myrkri.
